Queen Anne High School Condos offer something you rarely find in Seattle: historic architecture, soaring ceilings, tall windows, and one-of-a-kind floor plans shaped by the building’s past. Every home pays homage to the 1908 landmark, but has been restored and updated for modern living. Let Urban Living help you find your new home in this building!
This building is unlike any other condo conversion we’ve seen in the city, across more than 20 years of experience. It’s a piece of Seattle history brought forward into the present. The building was constructed in 1908 at a time when the city wanted schools that inspired students. Queen Anne High School was designed with late-Renaissance details, terra cotta ornamentation, broad staircases, and tall windows that filled classrooms with light. The district called it the “summit of achievement” in local school architecture. Situated at the Queen Anne Hill it grants you sweeping views of the Sound, mountains, and the growing downtown below. The school closed in the early 1980s and the city started working with preservation groups to save the structure. The result was an adaptive reuse project that turned classrooms into homes while preserving many of the original features - blackboards, window frames, masonry, and the signature Galer Street entrance. The building transitioned from apartments to condominiums in 2006, and today it’s home to 137 units - each of which feels distinct. There are updated kitchens, restored masonry, modernized elevators, and renovated common areas. You’ll find dramatic ceiling heights, oversized windows, loft-like layouts, quirky corners from the original classroom footprints, and a rooftop deck where you can take in downtown and Elliott Bay in all their glory.
